Students from LAUSD at large or Non-Belmont Zone of Choice students will follow this procedure to apply to Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual & Performing Arts for the 2013-14 school year. Students will be admitted to the school on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. 16 October 2012:The application is available on the school web site.
  2. January 30, 2013: Applications may be turned in, in person ONLY, beginning at 7:00 a.m..
  3. Those wishing to apply for the Music or Dance Academies will line up in front of the school on the sidewalk leading to the main office doors.
  4. Those applying for the Theatre or Visual Arts Academies will line up in front of the Main Theatre on Grand Ave.

    What to bring:

    1. Completed Application
    2. Original birth certificate
    3. Utility bill
    4. A parent or guardian must be present

    Your application will not be considered complete without all of the necessary documents.

If your confirmation letter is not received by the deadline your child will be placed at the bottom of the wait list.

We will determine the level of Arts classes each student is to be placed in and have students fill out a preference sheet with a counselor or academic classes.

  1. Bring a copy of your first semester report card.
  2. Bring a copy of your California Standards Test Scores from last year.
